Local Jazz Students Join Luke Pinegar at the House of Henry

Local favorite Pianist Luke Pinegar and three-time Grammy winner bassist Steve Gilmore perform with local high school and college students sitting in for a jam session. These young guests are possible recipients of the Gulf Jazz Society annual awards, sponsored by the Symonds Family Foundation and the James Preston Foundation. These organizations send deserving local talent to summer Jazz Camps at FSU Tallahassee or N.W. Florida Jacksonville, both well noted jazz schools.

Born In northern Alabama, Luke Pinegar has been bringing his soulful music to the Gulf Coast and beyond for many years. With a mix of Otis Redding, a dose of gospel, and the music of jazz Greats such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong, Luke puts his own stamp on the music he plays and sings. Luke continues to be one of the area’s most valued leaders and sidemen.

Playing with Luke will be three-time Grammy award winner, Steve Gilmore, whose musical collaborations include 40+ years with alto sax great Phil Woods, Tony Bennett, Jim Hall, and Tom Waits, to name a very few .
