DESCRIPTION:Gulf Jazz Society Concert April 7th House Of Henry\, once again features guest artist\, the fabulous Sheila Ford. Sheila has dazzled audiences for several decades in nearly every music style\, big band\, jazz\, blues\, funk\, R&B\, pop\, rock\, Latin\, rap\, as well as musical theater. Over the past few years\, Sheila has been headlining on various cruise ships featuring her show\, the “Tina Turner Experience. ” She has been involved in over 100 recordings\, including her own CD “Here You Are”.A Baltimore native and Berklee college of Music alumni\, Sheila has performed at Blues Alley\, The Kennedy Center\, NYC’s Dizzy’s club at Lincoln Center\, and numerous festivals all over the globe. Accompanying Sheila will be the popular and versatile pianist Luke Pinegar\, and three-time Grammy award-winning bassist Steve Gilmore.

SUMMARY:Gulf Jazz Society Concert presents saxophonist Iban Lee
DESCRIPTION:Originally from California\, Iban Lee is now based in Florida. Known for his deep sense of melody\, Iban brings a fresh\, yet historically informed voice to the modern jazz scene. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music performance from the Los Angeles College of music\, where he studied with renowned musicians Ralph Humphrey and Mitch Forman. He is the recipient of the Downbeat Magazine student music award for undergraduate college Outstanding performances. His performances are marked by a deep sense of tradition and a drive to play his music with integrity. Ramsey Casteneda say’s “Iban is one of the most compelling young saxophonists I’ve heard\, and one of the top young saxophonists to keep an ear on for the future of jazz.“ \n\n\n\nIban will be accompanied by popular pianist Luke Pinegar\, and bassist and three-time Grammy award winner\, Steve Gilmore. Hopefully\, the construction on the House of Henry block will be completed by then\, but available parking and entrance is in the rear\, with handicapped entry in the front.
