The Gulf Jazz Society Concert, August 4th at the House of Henry features local jazz saxophonist Craig Duran. Craig graduated from the University of North Florida with a jazz studies degree and went on to play professionally on cruise ships. Disney World, and other regional venues with jazz, pop, and reggae bands. While at UNF, Craig shared the stage with many jazz greats, like Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Joe Williams, the Count Basie Orchestra, Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson and many more. He moved to Panama City in 1997 to play with the local show band “Clutch”. Recently, Craig has been playing live music venues on 30A and occasionally appearing in bands like “Mofo” and JJ Grey. Popular local pianist and vocalist Luke Pinegar, known for his soulful southern style, will be accompanied by three-time Grammy award-winning bassist Steve Gilmore, whose credits include performing with jazz great Phil Woods, Tony Bennett, Jim Hall, and Tom Waits, and others.
The House of Henry is located at 461 Harrison Ave., in Panama City. Parking is readily available in front and back as the construction is now completed. Please enjoy the fine menu featuring authentic Irish cuisine. The performance runs from 6:30 to 9:00; admission is $10.
