Gulf Jazz Society Concert presents saxophonist Iban Lee

Originally from California, Iban Lee is now based in Florida. Known for his deep sense of melody, Iban brings a fresh, yet historically informed voice to the modern jazz scene. He earned his bachelor’s degree in music performance from the Los Angeles College of music, where he studied with renowned musicians Ralph Humphrey and Mitch Forman. He is the recipient of the Downbeat Magazine student music award for undergraduate college Outstanding performances. His performances are marked by a deep sense of tradition and a drive to play his music with integrity. Ramsey Casteneda say’s “Iban is one of the most compelling young saxophonists I’ve heard, and one of the top young saxophonists to keep an ear on for the future of jazz.“
Iban will be accompanied by popular pianist Luke Pinegar, and bassist and three-time Grammy award winner, Steve Gilmore. Hopefully, the construction on the House of Henry block will be completed by then, but available parking and entrance is in the rear, with handicapped entry in the front.
