Gulf Jazz Society presents Sharon Carroll at Alice’s

Our featured entertainer is Sharon Carroll who has been performing with jazz bands for two decades.  After performing in musical theater throughout the southeast in regional and dinner theaters, she returned home to Panama City to start her family and began performing with “The Swing Set Big Band”, and with the “Swift Shift Jazz Band”.  She has recorded two jazz CD;s; “Tell Me This Day Won’t End, with Amanda Matthews, for which she wrote the title track and also “Sharon Carroll & Company Live at Backstage Pass.”

Last spring she performed at the Pensacola Jazz Festival and in past years she has performed at Jazz Night at the District Pensacola and the Women in Jazz Night in Seville Quarter.  Sharon has performed at the Gulf Jazz Society;s Jazz By The Bay Festival and headlined the Celebrate Hope Gala at the Mitchell Cander Institute in Mobile, Alabama.  Guitar player Steve Cospir will be coming back to town and reuniting with Sharon for this Gulf Jazz Society event.  Steve and Sharon performed together for ten years before he moved out of state.  Joining them on the Alice’s Restaurant Stage will be three-time Grammy winner Steve Gilmore on bass, and Luke Pinegar on piano.  Steve and Luke performed on Sharon’s Live Album.

Admission to our monthly Gulf Jazz Society events is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.  These funds along with our annual Membership Dues is how we are able to bring great jazz entertainment to our area.  Doors at Alice’s Restaurant are open at 5pm and the entertainment starts at 6:30pm.  Come in early and get a great sunset view and select from the delicious food and drinks on their menu.  Membership Applications will be available for new members and current members can bring a check or pay cash to renew their 2023 membership.
